The Power Of Vision Event 2018

Vision is what I held on to when everything about my life was the exact opposite of what I saw and believed my future would be. Once I achieved my goals, I had to dream a bigger dream. Today, my vision board challenges me to stretch myself when I’m tempted to play small. – Marissa Q. Paine, MSW, Event Host

marissa-paine-standing-arms-crossedCan you believe it? We’re approaching another new year; which, in my world means one thing, and one thing only…it’s VISION BOARD TIME!

Hi there, I’m Marissa Q. Paine, Principal and CEO of Painefree Coaching & Consulting and host of The Power of Vision Event. I’m so glad you stopped by to learn a little more about this exciting two-part event series, so let’s jump right in.

Like you, I wear many hats in life.

In addition to being a business owner, I’m also a wife, a mother, a sister, an aunt, a daughter, a colleague, a friend; and somewhere underneath all of those hats was the regular old, neglected me.

Sound familiar?

Well, the regular old, neglected me got to a point where she wasn’t satisfied existing just to serve other people.

Regular old, neglected me had dreams and purpose of her own, so she learned how to include herself in the hats she wore, and as a result, she experienced a powerful transformation in her personal and professional life and now she’s living her best life yet!

How did she do it?

You guessed it, THE POWER OF VISION!

So how about you? Are you living your best life?  Are you fulfilled in your work? Does your life bring you joy?

If not, do you want it to? No, really. Do you REALLY want it to?

That is, are you ready to make the changes necessary to make shift happen?

If so, then you are in the right place!

Now, before I get too far ahead of myself, I want to make sure I haven’t given you the wrong impression.

I am, like you, a work in progress!

2018 marks my sixth year in business (Woo Hoo!), and for that I am EXTREMELY grateful, but believe me, it’s been a marathon, not a sprint, and it is far from over! Part of the reason I work with passionate, professional women in business is because I learn as much from them as they do from me, and they keep me inspired!

In 2012, I was in the WRONG JOB. I’d stepped down from my role as chief executive of a local nonprofit the year before because my kids were growing up in front of my eyes and I was “missing it”.

I knew what I really wanted to do (i.e. start my business), but I didn’t really know how to do it, and quite honestly, I didn’t really believe I could pull it off.

So I chose the more predictable path, a job I could do with my eyes closed, and as a result, I found myself in a stifling work environment navigating petty workplace conflict on an almost daily basis.

It was toxic and I KNEW that things had to change. But I still struggled to find the courage to make a move.

(Spoiler Alert)

Yep, that’s right. It all worked out in the end. I practice what I teach and am the poster child for the Power of Vision.

I’ll fill in some of the blanks at the event, but after leaving that job, I knew that going to work for someone else was not an option. The pressure cooker was on and it was time for me to get out of that pot.  So I did. Of course, I was afraid, but I did it anyway.

Six years later, I’m still standing; and so is my business!

Now I recognize that entrepreneurship may not be your journey, and that’s okay.

I’m more interested in helping you discover what’s right for you and helping you exceed your own expectations about what’s possible.  Trust me, if it can happen for me…it can happen for ANYONE!

If someone would have told me that I’d accomplish the things I accomplished in 2017, I would have thought they were crazy. Marissa held me accountable for my own personal growth even when it meant redirecting me to face my true self so I become my best self. I’m no longer a chicken in an eagle suit thanks to you. ~Natosha Steele, Chief Design Officer, Master Pieces

More than just a collage of inspirational quotes and pictures of “thinspiration”, a vision board is a visual and metaphoric depiction of your goals and the life you see for yourself once those goals are realized. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Done thoughtfully, your vision board can inspire you, challenge you and compel you to action.  It serves as a powerful reminder of what you’re striving for and why it matters, and can help guide your decision-making when you’re at that all too frequent crossroad between faith moves and fear moves.

If you DON’T have a Vision Board now, you CAN’T AFFORD MISS THIS EVENT!!!

If you DO have a Vision Board, THIS EVENT IS FOR YOU TOO!!!

That’s right, whether you’re a newbie who’s always thought about, but never started or finished your vision board, or you’ve gotten into the practice of doing a new board every year or so, you’ll find inspiration at The Power of Vision Board Event.
